What is a good basic laptop to buy?
I really only use computer for email and surfing the web every now in then. I need a wireless router as well. Also, a laptop that is not necessarily top speed fast, but fast is good

VALUE for the dollar. Dell 1505 or 1501. Linksys makes the best G router (I like the WRT54GL it is VERY upgradeable). N cards are coming down in price, they should be ratified by this summer. I can get pretty near N range and speed for a third the price

Any laptop on the market...you'll be looking in the $600-700 range.
Avoid DELL...you'll be paying through the nose for a second rate laptop and the name.

get the dell 610 its really good and cheap and it comes with a wireless card build in

FOR SOMETHING FAST u can get a dell xps laptop or hp,all are very good.
