I need help with Placing these sets of numbers in ascending order

3/7 -6/7,1/7,-1/2,2/7

start with the smallest, -6/7
then the next smallest -1/2
then the next 1/7
and again 2/7
then finally 3/7

Since they all are fractions over 7, just worry about the numerators. Think of the number line of how it gets more and more negative to the left and more and more positive to the right. Find the largest number with a negative and start with that. Then get smaller numbers with negatives until you run out. Finally, work with the positive numbers. You should get:
-6/7, -1/2, 1/7, 2/7, 3/7

Easy. 1/7 then 2/7 then 3/7 then1/2 then 6/7!
This was an answer from a math whiz (in 5th grade)!

Smallest -6/7
Then -1/2
Then 1/7
Then 2/7
Finally 3/7
