I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that has a 30G Hard Drive. I have seen replacement hard drives (up to 160G) on the internet and in stores. I have been entertaining the idea of buying one and swapping them out. Have any of you ever done this? What should I look for? Any advice? Anything (brands and such) to be aware of? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you get a drive that will fit in your model. Not all laptops drives work in all laptops. Theconnectorson the back couldbe different depending on how the maufacturer wanted to mount it in.
If you do get it and need more help let usknow or let me know.

The trick is to remember that if your laptop case can only hold one drive, you will have to install your OS on the drive. If you only have a restore disk, you can't do it, however.

Contact Toshiba and find-out the drives recommended by the company.

You will need to look up the system and see what kind of interface it uses. SATA, IDE After you find that out then just make sure it is a 2.5in drive and you should be good.
