Why is my MP3 doing this?

I have a Sandisk Sansa Express mp3 player, like most now it charges through the USB port (it directly connects, no cable needed). Whenever I leave it in the USB drive to charge and don't take it out when I turn it off and then later turn on the computer the screen freezes on the HP startup screen. Answers?

You may need to select unplug/eject device from the task bar. Often devices require this to function properly and unplugging without selecting this option could cause your computer to hang/not respond.
