Denver resident, lived in Colorado all my life, just got a place in South Denver with some roommates. We're all single guys and there is simply NOWHERE to meet girls or hang out in Denver that's not a bar or club (one of us not 21 yet.) Any suggestions would be awesome, because there's just nothing we can figure out to do.

PS: No we're not trying to get laid people, get over yourselves, you're not funny.

I'm not single now, but if you want a girl's perspective on where to find interesting people -

1) Sports events. I love the Rockies and go to the games quite often. Wednesdays are ladies' nights; you are sure to find groups of girls out for the night!

2) Performing Arts Complex. Maybe this sounds a little scary at first, but bear with me! I've seen a Dracula ballet, listened to the score from the Lord of the Rings, Spider-man, etc, and watched some very heart-pulsing dramas in this block-sized area. I was there last night with a girl-friend, both of us looking very cute (if I do say so myself) and nary a boy who wasn't attached to hit on us! You are guaranteed to see some lovely women around, and I promise you, the shows are pretty interesting!

3) Museums! Most all of us have been on school field trips in our lives, but have you been lately? The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is awesome! Displays on space, dinosaurs, native plants and animals will definitely leave you with something to talk about. If you do visit, why not check out the zoo while you're in the neighborhood? The art museums downtoen are pretty cool, too, especially modern art.

4) Parks. Bring your frisbees, dogs, and food, and have fun! Lots of people to talk to, invite to play frisbee, etc.

5) If you are outdoorsy, join a biking/hiking/running/etc group and you will meet lots of folks. One of my friends met her current boyfriend while running 5ks every weekend with him.

6) Volunteer. Score major points with the ladies, and there are so many opportunities besides soup kitchens. Work at an animal shelter, lead a youth group, help out at an event like the Denver International Film Festival (http://www.denverfilm.org/volunteer.cfm)! You will meet like-minded, caring people and be doing something to help others!

Good luck!

I love Denver! I'm a single mom so I'm kinda in the same boat. Can't take the kid to the bar. What about Washington Park? Invest in a Volleyball net and a cooler and watch all the pretty women that run around over there. Clement Park if that is closer.
Spend time at Chatfield or Bear Creek Lake Park.
You may want to pool your money and get something that you all can enjoy and make new friends in the process. You have to widen your circle and the girls will come. You should have a BBQ and invite people that you usually don't hang out with. Tell them to bring a side and some friends. Don't be shy, get numbers and use them. Plan fun stuff and invite the new recruits. They may invite you to do new stuff too. There is no reason you should ever be bored in Colorado.

First, I would like to say, I was just in Denver and had a great time. Everyone was nice and I definitely will be returning again.

Other then bars and clubs...what about sporting events like Rockies games. I hear you guys have a great concert venue, check it out (Red Rocks).

I just had a friend move out there for the snowboarding and rock climbing.
There is also biking, hiking...damn I want to move out there.

good luck

Hey, the weather is warming up. Go to the beach or sailing on Cherry Creek Res. or Chatfield.
Denver Art Museum http://www.denverartmuseum.org
Denver Zoological Gardens
Lakeside
6 Flags or whatever they're calling it this year.
See a play. There are tons of theaters off 6th Street and that area.
Gallery hop.
Go hiking up Boulder Canyon or any other of the millions of trails.

Dude, there are hundreds of things to do, use your imagination instead of sitting around staring at your belly button and feeling sorry for yourself!

I hear you, good question. Denver is what I consider a "car culture" city. In other words, people drive everywhere and are trapped in their own worlds in their cars driving from strip mall to strip mall. They are into themselves, their cars, and material posessions. Whereas many cities, people take public transportation and are less into themselves and more approachable. It does seem like one of the few ways to meet women is at bars as that is one of the few occasions where people let their guard down and socialize. While bars are good for getting laid, they are bad for meeting women to date long term

With that said, try www.playcoed.com they have some fun coed sports leagues that you and all your buddies can do. I've met some chill girls playing in their kickball league.

Good luck.
