The Red Cross Guard Start Junior Lifeguard program requirements for participants are that you must be able to swim 25 yards, tread water 1 minute, and swim underwater for 10 yards. This program requires running, swimming, and other fitness components. If your program is similar to the Red Cross program then chances are you will have the same or close requirements. Junior guards use a lot of energy, yes. Obviously, the more in shape and prepared you are the easier it will be.

Don't stress over it, relax and enjoy it. Guard Start is a great program and you will learn a lot and have a lot of fun!

Good luck ( =
