i got a new 13 incher white one 2.16 ghz model, wanna know if i can go out in hot calif sun for like 1hr at a time, on beach, 90 degrees or more or less...

They turn mauve/brown or yellow. YUCK. Macs work great and they have very good look, but don't expect them to stay that way for long. Keep it in a carrier and do NOT use ANY chemical on them. Wipe the keybord with a damp cloth (WATER ONLY) every at least once a day

The early white MacBooks had a problem with discoloration as a reaction to skin oils, and they'd turn pink/brown on the palm rests.

White isn't a color prone to fading in the sun and while you don't want the LCD panel in direct sunlight (you wouldn't be able to read it this way anyhow) you shouldn't have any ill effects.

I'd be more concerned about the sand getting into the optical drive, under the keys and into the cooling fan area.

Wish I had that problem here in England!!!!!!! It will probably fade over time but being white this will not be noticable. You can however buy protective covers for Macbooks, have a look at these

Just keep it in a computer bag when you're not using it. I've never seen one go off color though.
