If I had my preference I would have a wealthy/successful woman on my arm. To get to that level she would have to be intelligent, driven, motivated and self confident to achieve the level of success she has....traits much more important to me than simply being beautiful. In addition, a woman with those characteristis will no doubt be beautiful in her own right.

How about an intelligent, beautifully successful woman. That would be awesome!
No, really, I'd rather have a brilliant woman on my side. Success and beauty only last so long, but the power of the mind lives on forever.

Unfortunately, I am an American, so I have to state the American preference, whatever that is. I think if you judge by popular media, Americans of both genders prefer outward, physical beauty.
There are exceptions to any rule, though, and there are many who look to the inner, more spiritual, beauty. I think that the wider ones view is, the better one is educated, and the more dignity a woman carries herself with--as stated by another poster--the more that same woman is perceived as beautiful.
The European identified standards of beauty are not the only standards, either. I have friends and relatives in Mexico who do not look like the cover of any magazine, but who are very beautiful for their strengths, their countenances and their gifts.
That's how I prefer to be, as well.
Good luck

In the culture of the USA, a beautiful women is prized above all other. This is connected with the youth culture--older women are less valued.
I think being beautiful would make my life easier--at first. But I'd rather have brains. They'd last me longer.

This is an interesting question. I hate to say it but i think in America people love beautiful women and are almost obsessed with them. A wealthy successful, brilliant woman is certainly admired but many men find them to be intimidating. I have the perfect mix in my wife. She is beautiful inside and out, smart and successful. I got the best of all of them.

In my Culture all is up for Matchbox.
I value so,above else(included valuing),the woman that makes me "forget she is just a woman" or like another women.
Then those "personal" values are never so important as her personality. The horses she may ride never as important as her,the rider.
For me,she can comeback beaten, baffled by Life riddles, prettier youngsters,or deadbeat broke and I will take it with her, because her Life is my Life too.Love does for the rest.Nothing else can substitute it or bankrupt it,or pay for.
To become father can give you a wash on fake or side values, above love ones. While I still appreciate and admire those,I'd re-learn to value a woman(daughter) not for what she can reach or not,but plainly and fully for whom she is first.Assets, achievements, etc. secondary .. or irrelevant to it.

Well, if I could only have 1 of those three then I'd choose the beautiful woman.
Logical reasoning: My guy friends are both brilliant and wealthy/successful already. I can enjoy the fruits of their company any time. On the other hand, I plan to have sex with my woman and if she's not physically attractive then she might as well just be another one of the guys.
Ideally I'd like to have a beautiful AND smart woman. I couldn't care less about how wealthy she is, though.

i think many cultures value beautiful women the most. art, literature, statues, paintings, artifacts, and everything else seems to reflect this. there are varying concepts of beauty, but nowadays, a certain standard of beauty tends to overshadow other ones. ever watch miss universe?
the modern woman gets her empowerment from any or all of those things you list and more. in this case, feminism succeeds because of it's embrace and acceptance of such diverse expression.
there are many who are beautiful and brilliant and successful. really, everyone is to some degree, and it's not something that can be easily quantified in a pie chart. but you are asking to choose one, and i say brilliance. this is because brilliance is single best foundation on which to build self esteem, dignity, and so much more.
good luck.

Most likely a brilliant woman. Canadians are pretty good about that sort of thing. I'm already beautiful and brilliant (that's just how it is), so I'll take the success.
