how much do you want to pay, do you want a suv or a sedan. do you want manual transmission or automatic. are you sporty or conservative. I own a 06 milano red/ebony 6spd tsx/w. nav. I love it. I am not into suv and the rl is out of my price range. the tl-s would be my 2nd choice (6 spd)

The MDX is an SUV, while the RL and the TL Type S are both sedans. I know someone who owns a 2005 TL, and they are very happy with it. The TL type S is also the cheapest out of these. However, it has front-wheel-drive, unlike the RL and the MDX, which both have all-wheel-drive. This is significant if you live in an area with a lot of bad weather. All-wheel-drive is better that case, although front-wheel-drive can handle bad weather somewhat decently (but not better than all-wheel-drive). Also, the TL has been rated higher than the RL, and the MDX gets praise as well, but it in a recent comparison of a Mazda CX-9 (Grand Touring AWD), the Acura MDX, and the GMC Acadia (SLT AWD), the MDX got second place. Though it is very hard to choose between these three excellent automobiles, I would recommend the Acura TL simply because I know someone who has told me how much they enjoyed the car, its overall ratings, and from taking a ride in it myself and liking it very much. I hope this helps.

i absolutely love my 2004 TL. it is a great car. never had any trouble with it. The navigation system in all the acura's is the same and super user-friendly. The RL is a very big car to me. And I honestly prefer the new RDX to the MDX. i am not a big fan of SUV cars, but love both of the ones acuras has.
The only downside of the TL which just drives me up the wall is that the rear seats do not fold down. Every other car Acura makes has that feature.
The RL is going to give you that nice cushy soft ride that big luxury cars do. The TL is a bit sportier.
Really you can't go wrong with any of them. Just need to decide what your needs are.

I would say a TSX would be a good "starter" acura. They have an i-VTEC 4 cylinder engine to get good gas mileage. They do offer a nav system. They are also sporty and nice cars. But if you want to spend more money go with a TL. I have both a TL and RL I love them both. So pretty much It matters on how much money you want to spend and the body style you like.
