This is more of an issue of what comes first. Multiplication/divison and things inside parathesis come first. So first apply the (-) to the (3x-6) to get -3x+6. Then multiply 2 by (4x+5). This will get 8x + 10. Now all the other numbers come into play
11-3x+6+8x+10-x=
You will add 11+6+10=27
You will add -3x+8x -x=4x
This will result in
27+4x

11 - (3x-6) + 2 (4x+5) - x
Just use the distributive property:
11- 3x - (-6) + 2 (4x) + 2 (5) - x
11 - 3x + 6 + 8x + 10 - x
Now, collect like terms:
8x - 4x + 11 + 6 + 10
4x + 27

Use the distributive property on this one:
11-(3x-6)+2(4x+5)-x
11-3x+6+8x+10-x
combine like terms
11+6+10-3x+8x-x
27+4x
That's as far as you can go since you are not solving for x, 27 and 4x are NOT like terms so you cannot combine them, you must stop here.

okay first distrubute the 2 with (4x+5)
so you get 8x+10
then write it out
11-3x+6+8x+10-x
now just combine like terms (add and subtract and x's)
27+4x is a simplified form
to solve for X, this is what u do
subtract 27 from both sides
4x=-27
and divide both sides by 4
final answer is
x=-27/4

You can combine the x's to simplify it, but you can't solve for x without an =.
Combine as follows:
11-3x-6+8x+10-x
11-6+10-3x+8x-x
15+4x
Edit to add: Bhaijaan and others are right. I neglected to distribute the - in front of -(3x-6). Oops!

what you do is:
11-3x-6+8x+10 - you change 2(4x+5) into 8x+2
then you simplify:
combine the x's so it's 5x and the numbers so it's 21
so the end result is:
5x+21
hope that's what you needed!

Well, I see no = sign, so I am guessing this is an expression you have to simplify?
It is:
4x+27
Everyone else above me is incorrect as they forget a negative multiplied by a negative equals a positive.
-(3x-6)
-3x+6, not -3x-6

Comic relief: I'm no good at mathematics. Can I just ask, "do you want a drink with those fries?" There's a subtle warning here!

Well, what about it? Are you supposed to solve for x? Vital information is missing.
