i don't exactly live in Los Angeles and i would really appreciate it if i can get more information about what i should do as a starving actress. I also write music of my own and would want to do a combination of both...i'm a rising 3rd year at a University and i need ideas on starting now...is it a good idea to get an internship in one of the acting companies like Warner Brothers?

You must find out the procedure in the city where you live for contacting agents. It's not the same in every city.

Ask your actor friends or acting teacher, the preferred methods for contacting agents.

In NYC, when actors are in a production, they invite agents to attend the play.

The best way of getting an agent, and almost the only way, is to invite them to a show that you are in. This is the main advantage of going to drama school as they will have showcase events specifically for this kind of thing.

Not at drama school... not a problem, just get yourself involved in as many productions as possible... the best tip is to write to agents of people who are are in shows with as they are usually strapped for time and will be killing two birds with one stone. You may have to do plays for semi-proffesional companies for free and support yourself with part-time work.

Warner Bros. is not an acting company... an internship is not the best way to make a career in acting... you have to be in small shows and then biggers ones.. if you have the look (perhaps) and if your good then stuff might happen.

Keeping with it and researching your proffesion are the most important things.
