I had chosen Isobel for a girl, but discovered this evening it means "consecrated to God". As a pagan, I don't really think that's a particularly good meaning for one of my kids! So could people please give me other ideas for girls names. I like old fashioned (but not dull or ugly!) names. Middle name Patricia, last name Bailey.

Congratulations! Scarlett- Very suited yet I also recognize some, possibly a midsection call? Autumn- i recognize a million Autumn, its incredibly even though it doesnt supply any nicknames rather and that i'm no longer keen on seasonal names. Diana- i love Diana! it truly is regal and extremely incredibly, also works as a midsection call. Harlyn- by no potential heard this!! it truly is so incredibly, so a lengthy way its my established. Linking to what I reported until eventually now; Harlyn Scarlett, Harlyn Diana and so on Bridget- don't love, i recognize some female referred to as Bridget who are not the classiest. Skye- i love it! choose Skylar yet Skye is amazingly sweet :) Sailor/Saylor- no longer a fan. Reese- this is a lengthy way better masculine to me and reminds of the PB cups Rylan- I unquestionably have a neighbour who has a daughter referred to as Rylan, its fairly masculine yet with a female midsection call it rather works nicely. {The Rylan i recognize is Rylan Olivia. } journey- feels like a 'made up' movie star call. i don't love it Maxine- by no potential loved Max on a woman, bit too previous college. Roxie- LOVE Roxie!!!! My favourites are Harlyn, Roxie and Rylan :)

Here are a couple names you might like: IRIS meaning: Unlike Rose and Lily, Iris is one flower name that hasn't hit the mainstream again yet. In Greek mythology, Iris was the messenger of the gods, who traveled from Mt. Olympus to earth on the rainbow.
JUNE: meaning brings to mind lovely warm days-- a nice old-fashioned name in need of rescuing from the stuffy closet.
ODESSA: meaning: Ukranian city on the coast of the Black Sea.
Ok my last idea is Olivia.meaning:is Elf Arm The origin of the name Olivia is English
I hope one of these might work for you. good luck.

If you like the name Isobel use it. Sometimes I think name meanings are just a gimmick to sell bookmarks!
My son is named 'Dale'. A valley, I think, is what the book said. Don't want my son thinking he lives in / or brought about a valley to me...but since I really don't care what some book says the name means, I used it because I liked it.

I really like the name Eliza. I don't exactly know why though. but theres an "a" at the end of her middle name too so it might sound weird. Hmm. i thought of a really good name today but I can't think of it! GRR! Adelle! There we go!
