the meteors mentioned in the other answers were bad, and humanity can be construed as a plauge on the planet, however.. there was an asteroid strike that hit near antarctica that made a region the size of russia erupt on the other side of the planet, they are called the siberian traps. so it was a two flod natural disaster, the asteroid killed half of the planet and the volcanoes killed the other half, and most of the oceans evaporated and the sky was black
I think that is about as bad as it gets

I think when a volcano exploded millions of years ago possibly erasing most life on earth. It is said that we may be in danger again in this century or the next because one of the largest active volcanoes on earth possibly yellowstone park may errupt any deacade now.

In my opinion, the meteor that crashed into the Gulf of Mexico about 65 million years ago and helped facilitate a mass extinction. But this might be a more objective question than a subjective one.
