No, it's a Republic, because we have representatives vote on the issues for us. We do, however, elect most of our representatives democratically.

No. In a true democracy, everything is a public referendum. We have a representative constitutional democracy where the laws are made by representatives but are subject to a higher law in the Constitution. The courts are given the responsibility that laws passed by the representatives aren't in violation of the Constitution.

No and anyone who says yes needs to crack a civics book.
Our individual votes are used to elect electors. Those electors go on to cast their states electoral votes for president. The flaw in the system allows for an elector to vote their own belief vs voting for the states popular vote winner.
Until this system changes the U.S. is not a true democracy.

No, it is a representative republic. We elect politicians that make most of the decisions for us and we have laws that restrict the power of the majority. To put that another way, we protect the rights of minorities.

Yes, despite problems in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004. People can vote for their leaders, and their votes (in most states) still count.
