I plan on moving to Australia for school next year and cannot decide where i want to go... I wont have a car so i prefer a city that is not too hard to get around but is still exciting to live in... I am considering Gold Coast, Brisbane, or Wollongong but have also heard good things about Perth. Any suggestions ?????

IF you like it HOT all year around - what about Cairns in North Qld?
There are direct flights into Cairns as it's an international airport.

We have an excellent Campus and University here.
Public transport buses are great and you would be living in a tropical lifestyle.
Part-time jobs, no problems..

Browse through the websites and see what you think.

If you want to get around by public transport, forget the Gold Coast and Wollongong. Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide all have good public transport systems in most areas. I don't know about Perth, I haven't used public transport over there. Perth, however, is very expensive now and a long long way from anywhere else.

Accents are learned in the school yard. At 15, you have your accent. Unless there is a particular need for you to lose your Canadian accent, you won't. My brother went into the Australian army when he was 20 and lost his English accent in about a week. I have lived in Australia now for 50 years, I was 16 when I arrived and still had two years of school to go. I still have a recognisable English accent although British people identify me as being Australian because of some expressions and sounds. You will be able to learn the accent and will be able to impress your friends when you get home. Actors change their accents all the time. The accent won't last, however, and you will revert to your original accent.

the Southern cross university is located in NSW with campuses in Lismore and Tweed Heads - read the two websites to find out more. Lovely as Perth is, If your time is limited I think you will see more of the country basing yourself on the central east coast Have a look! studyabroad.scu.edu.au www.ifsa-butler.org/programs/australia
