my newspaper has to look old. But I tried dying the paper then printing on the dyed paper and then putting it together but it is taking too long. I have actual newspaper paper I am using so, what if I print out my info then put the paper together. Then, I could water down brown paint and just sponge it on so the ink doesnt smear. Do you think this would give it the old effect?

any other suggestions?

get some blending chalks.. they come in all different colours, in canada about 6 little square clocks of chalk in a package is around 6/7 bucks.. get a white paper and practice on it, just blend the colours and experiment, once you have the look you want go for it.. also look through some scrapbooking magazines or online even i'm sure you can find more ideas.. have fun (look in even wal-mart in the craft section there's plenty there you could use.)

If you use an ink-jet printer, do not get the paper wet after printing, the ink will run.
Use a laser printer instead, have your pages copied on a photo copier (xerox machine) if needed. That ink will not run when wet.

Or use the chalk idea the other person was telling about.

Okay, I have done this many times for projects. What you do is smear tea over the printed paper. Then let it dry. Then, for a more unique effect, burn the edges so it looks ragged. (Make sure to blow it out so it doesn't get too burnt!) This will make it look cool and a sure A+! (As long as the content is good)
