Many of the problems is with legal prescriptions. People are obtaining other people's prescriptions illegally. This is what sells on the streets.
Many people with drug addictions are unable to pay for health insurance, medications & Rehabilitation. Then they start buying drugs off the streets and sometimes resort to other types of illegal drugs.
Legallizing drugs is not going to solve the drug problems we have. We really should get grants for people with low income to access rehabilitation and find a way to lower the cost of health insurance and health care. That will help take care of a good part of the drug problem.

well .. look at this way
if drugs are made legal, 1st wave will kill a lot of people because a lot of people will go frenzy and OD. But then my motto is LESS PEOPLE = MORE OXYGEN..
if drugs are illegal, people will be killing other people by producing high toxic and deadly drugs
so the only way anyone can win the war on drugs is by prevention. To me any kind of a drug is a waste of money.
Misty Be… HOW DARE you state that EVERYBODY does them anyways. THERE ARE MILLIONS of people who never tried drugs. I am 31. I never tried smoking, never did drugs, i hardly ever drink 3 beers per year *1st day Oktoberfest, last day Oktoberfest and St Patrick's"
For all who is for drugs, ask yourself this question "when I will come home, will i find my child OD or ALIVE doing something productive?"
long live drug free world!

Yes, I believe all drugs should be legal. If you legalize drugs you take the crime element out of it. You limit who can buy strictly over 21 and from liscensed pharmacies, granted the drug death rate from overdose would most likely increase in the first 6 months, but after that you would see a general decline in the use of drugs as the hype and newness wore off. Most importantly, the taxes taken in from these drugs would be an enourmous windfall. You want healthcare...theres the money, including enough for people to get into rehab. To me it's a win win situation. I Holland they legalized heroin and at first approx 1,000 people signed up. that figure is now down to less than 600 due to people just getting tired of doing it and going into rehab. Holland despite legal drugs and legal prostitution has one of the lowest crime rates in the entire Western World.

.Do you think hit and runs should be legal? How about vehicular homicide? Wait maybe the latest fad "Homeless bashing". More drugs more violence!! No the taxation theory would not work either. Why buy your marijuana when I could grow my own? Sorry we have enough problems already in today's society

Not all of them. Would you want the guys driving the heavy machinery along the freeway strung out on crack? Meth is some seriously bad stuff. You ever been around people who have been tweekin for 3 weeks straight? Scary... thats all I got to say.

I think that only weed should be a legal drug because it doesn't really do anything. It should be regulated like cigarettes and have the crap taxed out of them too.

i think that pot should be legalized and controlled...i don't think that any "hard" drugs should be legal...
pot doesn't really do too much to you for the long run...it affects your memory that's about it, yes it is somewhat addictive now but still not even close to what cigarettes and alcohol are...
cocaine and heroin and those kinds of drugs really screw you up...they are VERY addictive and can cause severe bodily harm..

Not all drugs, but I do believe that some should be. Why worry about population control when everyones killing themselves? It's a brilliant plan.

The only drug I want to see legalized shouldn't really be classified as a drug, and that's good ol' mj.
All and I mean ALL other illegal drugs should stay illegal, with even higher penalties than we have now! If you've ever seen the mess that crack cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin have created, you would want them to stay illegal FOREVER! These drugs ruin lives and destroy families. I consider them EVIL.
