What belief(s) do you have that you're really on fire about and driven by? Why?

If could debate/discuss about any certain topic what would it be and why?

Is there anything particular about society or ways of life or the way certain people are treated that just really gets on your nerves?

There are actually 2 things that I'm pretty passionate about...animal cruelty and the new age feminist movement.

I hate that people who abuse animals are slapped on the wrist and maybe given a fine. To hurt, kill or maim an animal is totally heartless and should be punishable by jail time...if a person will beat a defenseless dog for no reason, what stops them from beating a child?

As for women these days...I could go on forever about this one. I don't understand why women ***** and moan about equality when 90% of my generations ladies behave in a way that doesn't make them deserving of any kind of respect. Men are never going to respect us as equals, as human beings before GIRLS, if we don't stop treating OURSELVES like pieces of meat.

Why are Viet Nam veterans still being treated like trash by the VA and our government? My late husband was a Viet Nam vet and I've seen first hand how they are treated differently than say a WW2 or Korean vet at the VA hospital and by the VA in general. They treat them all like nothing but drunks and drug addicts and they fail to realize there are reasons for this behavior and most of the time it was the gov who got them hooked on that stuff in the first place. I could be on here for hours talking about this!

I am really on fire about the humane treatment of animals. Because they are dependent on us for everything; food, shelter, medical care. They feel pain and love and deserve to be treated humanely with love and compassion. When I see or hear about animal abuse, it enrages me. And sport hunting, especially with crossbows, is another thing that I can rant about. People plodding through the bush or lurking and luring with decoys and getting off on killing something just for the sake of it really sends me over the edge. I could go on, but that's the gist of it.

I am burning up serious about seeing that no more innocent people are sent to prison. My only child, my son, Mitch" was sent to prison at age 17 for a crime committed by a man named "Dale" ... and the courts know it; the prisons know it; in fact everyone except the brain dead jury who just wanted to get out of that courtroom and go to dinner knew it at the time. But, in California, once the jury prounounces you guilty. We even had the man who the police forced to testify against my son, come forward and tell the judge afterwards that the police threatened him with prison if he didn't testify the way they had it written down. That is it.

It takes money, tons of money, and influence to get someone out of prison who is innocent. We were a poor family; we didn't have money for attorneys and we didn't have money for high priced appellate attorneys. So we have suffered for over 28 years because of a corrupt political system in California that buys votes from its constituency by refusing to parole people from prison. My son has had nothing but the highest reports from every professional who has seen him, psychiatrists, counselors, staff, etc. They have all said, to the person, this young man does not belong in prison. He deserves to be paroled. Since 1982 they have said that. But we have governors in this state who get elected by not letting anyone parole.

My burning desire is to make sure that what happened to my son, and my family, never happens again to another family.

well that's opening pandora's box! I can't believe that there is any arguement about abortion! Women claim that it's "their" body so they can do what they want to with it....I have 2 points about that:

1. Go to the doctor and ask to have your arm removed. I bet they won't do it, even though it's your body.

2. It's not YOUR body. It's your child's body that they rip apart in the womb. Did you know that sometimes the babies try to fight off the instraments being used.

I'm a mother.....that's why I feel the way I do. It's never the child's fault that you got pregnant.

When I was younger I was like that. I was passionate but now I take more of a personal isolationist view. To each their own and live and let die type of philosophy. I don't get involved but I do vote and that's as far as I take it.

I truly believe that the war in Iraq needs to end now - because we all know it will end and the only difference that counts, between now and the end...is how many more will die.

I really hate how so many people think that animals were put on this earth for us to exploit. I'm sick of the "might equals right" mentality!

There's a few hot button issues for me. One is a woman's right-to-choose...I'm a mother but I am incredibly pro-choice!! It upsets me to no end that people are against abortion and trying to outlaw it based on religious beliefs.
