The ten Plagues were a means for the jewish god "Hashem" to get the jews out of Egypt. They were
1. Blood-all water turned to blood
2. Frogs
3. Lice-all over the body's
4. Wild animals
5. Livestock died
6. boils all over the body
7. Hail with fire inside
8. Grasshoppers ate all the crop and food
9. darkness so thick you could not move
10. The death of the firstborns.
This answers are there ten, what, why, and what do they consist of?

The plagues on Egypt were sent by God as a means of getting them to let Israel go and as an answer to all of the different "gods" that Egypt worshiped.....and finally God gave
Pharaoh an offer he couldn't refuse (Passover) and Israel was
OUT of there!!!......Only to end up wandering in the wilderness for forty years before they could enter into the Promised Land.

Read Exodus =)
and get a copy of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS....There are some fictional parts to it, but the basic true story of Exodus is still intact.....It's a good movie!! =)

The first was to turn the Nile and all of the water in Egypt into blood....There were also frogs...and locusts...and there was darkness and hail....along with others..since Pharaoh refused to relent.....

she gave such a good answere, Moses was never allowed to enter the promise land, he was only allowed to see it from the moutain top, and they roamed in the dessert for 40 years, so one generation would die off, and not tell and keep alive the myths of the "GOD"S-
