I have always wanted to make something very powerful and so I wanted to make a magnet but all of my electromagnets are weak what would be able to juice it up my idea is...
Get 200 feet of insulated copper wire
Cut it up into 50 feet each
get 4 9v batterys
and a iron block.

Your electromagnet could not lift my LPG gas cylinder. There are electromagnets that can lift cars. So lets say you are not in a very good position to make something very powerful. You might want to work your way up into an engineering field that might give you that chance. Right now, the only thing you can harness real power in is your mind.

The problem is the resistance of the wire. As the wire gets longer it's resistance increases and the current decreases (ohm's law). You can use a larger guage wire to reduce the effect, but you'll need very hefty batteries. The strength of the magnet is proportionate the the number of turns and the current in the windings.
