The answer is really quite simple. Nobody supports it because they dont know what it is. As libertarians we dont promote our party the way the dems and reps promote theirs. As people who want government out of our lives and so small - most of us dont want anything to do with the government and therefore dont are not voicerous about it.
This is actually a very bad policy on our part. Everyone out there is libertarian in some form or another. They just dont realize it. Since the opposite of freedom is slavery, if they werent at least partially libertarian they would be someones slave somewhere.
Locally we realize that there is no base in our community. We have decided to take a totally different course with the way we approach the political as compared to other libertarian organizations. Here we have decided to spread the word, we have infotainment at our meetings about things the government is doing and how it affects your private lives.
We teach what options there are to protect yourselves. We teach what the libertarian philosphy means and how to use it in your daily life. We teach history of the US and how the current government came about and what you can do about it. We promote activism in local government and teach people how to run elections.
I believe that a well educated person can make wise choices rather then just following the crowd. Critical thinkers will change this country and restore it to its greatness.
If more libertarians groups actually took the time to educate others, they would find out that people are more respetive to them as they realize they are in the wrong party. It is the one biggest downfall of the entire libertarian party and it needs to change if anyone is going to support the libertarian agenda.

It's not that nobody is supporting a libertarian agenda. It's that the libertarian agenda has been hijacked by the neo-conservatives. To your sub-question, our current system is flawed because it is first past the post and people don't want to waste a vote on a third party candidate that may not win. However, if we had a form of Proportional Representation we could have everyone's vote count and it would open up many opportunities for third parties. The problem is: how do we get there when there seems like no hope for a third party that can gain power and change laws to allow this to happen? The solution to that would be that either we need to tell the current parties that we want change or we need to start voting for Libertarians, Greens, and the like.

The only way more than 2 parties will ever work, is to have a run-off election of the two highest vote getters.
Rush has done more to promote Libertarian Agenda than the Libertarian Party has ever done.

The libertarian agenda does have some unpopular elements. It's for the legalization of drugs, for instance.
Yes, our winner-take-all electoral process is flawed in that it results in a two-party system that effectively thwarts the will of most of the American people.

it's a republic. not a democracy. always has been. except for on the bare local level with referendums, we have no direct say in how our politics are run- are we just get to choose which master will decide it for us.
however, this two-party system has taken an already flawed illegitimate political system (representative democracy) and turned it into a total joke.

The only way to make your vote count during a Presidential election is to vote for someone who represents one of the two major parties.

in the previous the Federal Reserve monetary organisation, the dep..Of The Treasury dealt with each of the monetary transactions, printing money being only one.did not you ever listen of the Mint? area of our deficits is the pastime we pay to the Federal Reserve.opposite to the conception of a few human beings, the Fed isn't a U.S. authorities sources.it truly is a private monetary organisation this is a for-earnings organisation. And as such, they charge We;the folk..... for our own money contained in the shape of pastime(again, ever heard of the suitable price?) I unquestionably have surely no situation with our authorities telling the Fed to pound sand and turning the economy decrease back to the Treasury Dept.it worked for some hundred years in the previous the Fed became even dreamed up..I also might want to don't have any situation with going to the perfect again. Our money might want to be nicely worth some thing again.the purely hardship is that it can't happen.Your "representatives" don't have the braveness to revive this mistake.

no, its not real democracy, Its an illusion of choice where you are given two candidates from two almost identical parties with one guy saying "white!" and the other "red!", and then you are asked to choose.
If you want actual democracy, move to a scandanavian country. Hell, Iran has a more vibrant democracy then we do! and thats just sad.

If I thought it had a chance to save this country, sure, I would. Sadly, it doesn't. It's kind of like fighting time. You just can't. The US has been speeding towards it's date with hell for about 50 years now, and it's really a case of you can look back, but nothing can be done. The place is toast, seriously. Also, that toast is burnt. Plus no marmalade.

Unfortunately we don't have very good representatives. I'm still waiting for Penn Jillette to try and run, at least he has some common sense, but I doubt that would happen. I'm even willing to reform the party alittle. But only alittle. Lol.
