I need to find out what class the octopus is in, what genus ,speices, kingdom , phylum,order,and family and why they are classified in each group. Thanks if you can help!

Kingdom- Animalia b/c it is an animal
Phylum- mollusca b/c it is an invertebrate in the mollusc group (the same as snails and squid)
Order- cephalopoda (translated to litterally mean head foot)
The Family, Genus, and Species depends on the type of octopus. I would need more information to answer that.

You do have an idea of how big a coconut is, so you can use that to get a good idea of the size of the octopus. Octopuses can get much bigger than that. Coconut shells, like wood, might not sink immediately, but they can ink if they become waterlogged.
