Like other forms of literature and art, films often contain messages. They express the writer's and director's point of view. Usually they don't rise to the level of propaganda which is defined as "The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause"

Yes
The messages are different depending on the films. Some contain Neo-Conservative messages (such as 300). Others contain Left-Liberal messages (such as Happy Feet). Others contain subtle messages from the old left that believed socialism would lead to prosperity (Spiderman).
There are also movies with subtle libertarian messages (V for Vendetta).
Hollywood doesn't have any single bias. The movies usually promote the director's viewpoint, which could be anything. However, the movie critics usually tend to be Left-Liberal (for example, Roger Ebert's favorite movie is the left's Godfather ripoff, Goodfellas). There are also Neo-Conservative critics, though they are outnumbered.
Movies promoting libertarian viewpoints usually get mostly bad reviews (and thus are all but doomed to fail) because there aren't many libertarian critics.

Since a lot of films contain subliminal advertising(which by the way is legal) I should imagine as well as the "obvious propaganda" which a lot of replies have noticed themselves, subliminal (hidden) political messages will most probably be sent as well................please note the words imagine and probably........I suppose like a lot of people I'm a bit scared, sounds a bit paranoid ,it's the times we live in.

Yes and UK TV principally the BBC have hidden messages to con us into multiculturalism, ethnic announcers and political correspondents in disproportionate numbers are an insult which we dare not criticise for fear of being called racist.
Al Jazzera an ARABIC TV station is more caucasian than the BBC

I couldn't care less if they do. Hollywood does not think for me. I am perfectly able and willing to make my own decisions based solely on my own research and beliefs...it's time for people to stop blaming the world for everything and take responsibility for their actions. Wake up, people. It's ok to disagree, too! Just have an opinion! I think it's great that a filmmaker can voice an opinion. If you don't think that's okay, or if you aren't smart enough to take it for what it's worth, then go to the library and start reading. Do research. Talk to people. Stop sitting back and letting the government and the media think for you. :)

Yes, but not for the reason most of the bozo partisan ideologues here have stated. If you look historically at movies they portray the individual as the only means of accomplishing any given task, not through cooperation, but through brute force and doing whatever "needs to be done". It has undoubtedly shaped US culture to place personal ambition above all else.

It's not hidden. I was once told that science fiction is always about the present, not the future. It reflects current thinking more than it predicts the future.

"Men in Black" was an infomercial for the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks.
"Jericho" is an infomercial for some unknown future nuclear attack on America which will be blamed on Muslim extremists who are still being developed in intelligence camps all over the world.
