I don't have my ears pierced. All my friends think i should get it done. I'm just a little worried about the pain. They all had it done when they were less than 2 years old, so I don't think they remember too well. They say it doesn't hurt at all. That seems a little hard to believe since a needle is going through a good 1/4 inch of skin! Can anyone with recent experience tell me about it? also, how long do you have to wear the same pair of earings after having it done?

I just turned 19 and i finally got my ears pierced lol. I was so scared for long and i will be honest, it hurts a little, but not something that isn't worth not getting them pierced. Its like a pinch, or a shot, but really nothing bad.
And i LOVE my earrings. I got my ears pierced about a week and a half ago and i do not regret it. It does get irritating when you sleep on your side, but that goes away, too.

my friends say you can change the earrings within 2 or 3 weeks (even though everyone says 6 weeks.. but i can't wait that long!)

i hope you get yours pierced... you'll love it!

If you want it done get it done. It's not that bad. I have over 11 piercings and over 4 tattoos. Its really not bad, or else you wouldn 't see so many people with 4 or 5 different holes up their ear. I even have my tregas done. It hurts for a split second then just gets warm. Leave them in for 6 weeks and clean it with solution twice a day the whole 6 weeks. If you don't think you can manage a quick 1/4 a second of pain and a little warming sensation then punk out but its not that bad. You won't cry or anything like that. It will all be okay.

I'm terrified of needles and I've had a lot of piercings done--the lobe piercings really don't hurt at all. Well, that's a lie. They hurt a little bit but mostly it'll just feel numb and kind of hot. Then, about a half-hour afterward, it'll still be hot and perhaps throb a little. As for wearing the same earrings after getting it done--you usually are supposed to wear them for three to six weeks, but as long as you keep the piercing and the jewelry clean, you can probably change it after a couple weeks. This isn't recommended, though, because the stud jewelry that you get it pierced with will be the most comfortable to sleep in. But, don't get your ears pierced unless you want to--don't let your friends pressure you into it.

I got my ears pierced about three years ago. I would actually reccomend getting it done at the store called Claire's because they do both ears @ the same time so u don't chicken out on the second one. They are very careful and sanitary with their piercings and did a great job on my ears (nice and even, none of the whole one-earring-is-higher-up-than-the-matching-one). (plus the actual piercing is free- you just have to pay for the earrings).

It hurts a little at first, but after a few minutes it just sort of tingles. Usually you need to leave that first pair of earrings for about two weeks. That give the skin inside the piercing time to completely heal. It also helps prevent infection.

I would reccommend getting post earrings in your first piercing that have a little bigger post (the part that's actually in your ear) so that you can wear any size earring without much trouble... I got little tiny posts in my ears and I had some trouble getting larger wires into my ears.

Don't worry... it's only going to hurt for about a minute, and not very badly for more than ten secs.

I had my ears pierced when I was about 5 and from what I remembered it didn't hurt at all. You just feel a slight pressure and then a lill pop sound when it breaks through the skin but thats about it. Actually it's one of the least painful piercings you can get. I have my belly button done and a tattoo and out of all of them my ears were the least painful. Just be sure to care for your piercing. Clean it with Rubbing alcohol or the cleaner they give you at Claire's or where ever you go to pierce them. Let them heal for about 2 -3 weeks before changing earrings. Enjoy!

When i got my ears pierced i was 12 and it hurt so badly! I had a few problems but that was because i did not take care of them that well! If and when you get your ears pierced don't think about the pain and you'll be ok! It stopped hurting immediatly after they were pierced! If you take care of them they will be something really cool! I love how my ears are pierced and i love getting new earrings! It will be ok in the end! Also you have to have your earrings in for 6 weeks, but it goes by really fast! I love earrings and my ears are really healthy and fine now!

I got mines done when i was a kid but i know it ain't that sore. What got me was the not knowing what it was going to be like but after it i was fine. It does sting a little and you hear the gun going and feel pressure but that's it. You should keep the earrings in for about 6 or 8 weeks just to be on the safe side so they don't close.

You have to keep turning them every once and a while so they don't stick cause they do bleed just a little.

They use a "gun" to pierce your ears, it does NOT hurt at all. You just hear a "click" "click" then they do it and its DONE. Nothing to it. I had 3 holes in each ear at one pt, but now I only have 2 since the 3 looked cheesy on me. lol. Also, they give you "STUDS" to wear, you are suppose to wear them 6-8 WEEKS straight. DO NOT TAKE THEM OUT. Make sure you turn the earrings once a day to open the holes and keep it from sealing up around the earring. ouchies...

GOOD LUCK!!

OMG rite down my ally kuz i just got mine redone 2 weeks ago!!!!! i have a rlly high pain tolerence tho soo...but the whole thing happens soo fast that you won't feel too much pain...it kinda felt like someone pinched me...your ears will turn red for a few hours afterword but its not that bad...make sure you ask for someone VERY experienced...they usually do the best job at going so fast you don't even realize you got it done. i think if you are rlly scared or worried you should take a friend with you to talk you through it...

I was in my teens when I got mine done. I got them done because if I wore clip-ons I got bad headaches and lumps grew in my ear lobes. The process doesn't hurt at all. You just have to make sure the ear is cleaned and the ring turned every day. If you don't, it does get infected and tender. I foget how long I wore the earings - but I'm sure someone who has had it done recently has already answered that one.
