The flame between me and my husband is dwindling down and I know he's looking for excitement. Of course, I don't want him going elsewhere to find it. We have a healthy and wonderful sex life, but it's the things in between that are not so, urgh romantic or sensual. We talk frequently throughout the day, but it's the usual "What's for dinner?", blah blah blah.
What something exciting that I can text/email throughout the day to spice it up a bit? Sexual, romantic, or otherwise? Something that can make him excited and anxious to get home and see me?

I can give you suggestions, and you can take ideas from them.
If you want to have fun with him at night, then text him some erotic stuff, it can be something innocent like “tonight I’m yours”, to very bad and dirty like “tonight I want you to lick my (whatever you want to put here) and suck it very hard”.
See what I mean?
Or you could be less direct and give him hints like “tonight I’m serving you dinner in the bedroom”, or “you are going to get a special dessert tonight”.
Of course, it doesn’t have to be about him only, you can also ask him for things for you, like “tonight I need to get some good potassium, so I need a big and long banana for dessert”.
You can also look for new places to have fun with him, if you have a pool or a outside Jacuzzi, you could message him “tonight is hot, so we are going skinny dipping”. If you can get home before him, then write some signs that read “I’m outside” and a “No Clothes allowed” sign next to the backyard door. He will know what to do, trust me.
There are many things you can do besides that, from renting a good quality porno movie to watch together (try to watch it all the way… my wife and I can never do that, we end doing it while watching), to looking for new things to introduce to your sex life like toys, new places to have sex, dirty talk, etc, etc.

There comes a time in every marriage where it seems to be an everyday same thing and the only way to spruce it up is to remember where you came from and what is your desires in life. Guess what? Life is boring when you become complacent.

Really I think that's something only you would know. We dont know your husband, what turns him on and how intimate you two are. I mean he's a man, you could text him that as soon as you/he gets home you are going to drop to his knees, right there at the front door and give him the best head of his life. But then of course you have to be prepared to do that.
