and now the damn car is acting weird. I get in gear and I'm pressing gas, car is barely moving rpm's is movin up though I never push the gas hard enough to get past 3(rpm). what could this be. One mechanic telling me the clutch is gone and when the car heats up the clutch slips is this right?? this could save me $880.00

Sorry forgot to tell u this... just changed the clutch master cylinder/slave cylinder... shouldn't he have seen the clutch was going?

Yup sounds like your clutch/tranny is shot. The mechanic you went to is right, sorry to hear about that!

Yeah he could have been nice and mentioned it, but if you aren't that smart with cars, of course they are going to try and rip you off. Why make him pay once when we can get him to pay twice! Ignorant I know but thats how it works :(

yeah... the clutch is likely gone. sounds like the exact symptoms you would expect. actually, the clutch could have been on it's way out already, and the new slave cylinder could have just accelerated the issue.
