essential of economics by john sloman is the answer to your prayer. the best ecnomics student in my country (malaysia) read it.

"i just want to know the basics for overall syllabus" <-- if this is you,
Economics (cie guideline) by bamford and friends is good and MCQs question for a level is covered almost word by word.

"shoot, exam is in 3 days and im blacking out" <-- if this is you,
economics through diagram (oxford) is the best econs book ever.
