Now that my husband is getting used to the idea of having a fourth child, i'm afraid something may be wrong. Although each one of my pregnancies was different, the common denominator in all of them was that i felt changes in my body. Some were much stronger than others but i did feel something. I have absolutly NO symptoms with this pregnancy. My missed period is the only symptom. There has been no change in my energy level, no breast tenderness, no nausea, nothing. I feel totally "normal" which is a little scary. Has anyone else felt like this at 8 almost 9 weeks? A friend of mine suggested that because i have a nine month old and i'm breatfeeding, my hormone levels are out of wack and may not be high enough to sustain a pregnancy. I have a doc's appointment on monday ... just wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen?

by the way ... i have all girls and my mother tells me that "no or very few symptoms" is a baby boy sign.

Maybe the reason why you do not feel the changes in your body is because you are breast feeding you 9 month old. Your body is producing hormones to create the breast milk, and from what I understand, those hormones are very similar to the hormones produced during a pregnancy. In terms of having enough hormones to sustain the pregnancy, your friend is full of it. If you did not have enough hormones, then you would not be pregnant.

To me, it sounds like you are on your way to having a healthy and happy 4th child. Congrats!

I'm on the way with my first child. Like you, I didn't feel any symptoms during the first two and a half months. My bump was hardly noticeable. I gained just 2-3 lbs. My breasts were a bit bigger, but not tender. I was happy as a clam.
I mentioned this to my doctor. She said that every woman and every pregnancy is unique. And that I was one of the "lucky ones."

But I spoke too soon. Towards the end of my third month and during the first two months of my second trimester, I had a lot of the symptoms: nausea, constipation, heartburn (which I've never had before, such that the first time I experienced it, I thought my appendix had ruptured), heaviness, tiredness, sleepiness. I didn't have prenatal depression, but I sure was feeling miserable. (And from books that I read, this was supposed to be the time when I would be energetic and happy.)

That stage has long passed. I'm now far from being miserable. My husband and I are eagerly anticipating our little one in a few weeks. Totally love shopping for baby stuff.

Mention your concerns to your doctor. Every pregnancy is unique. You may, or may not, experience what I had. For now, cherish the time that you're symptom free.

Congrats and good luck!

This is my first and I am about 8 weeks pregnant and so far i don't feel pregnant yet. May be because i don't get morning sickness like i heard some women do nor do i get very sore boobs - they only grew bigger. The only other things i have are gas and constipation which don't mean pregnancy at all. I didn't believe it until the blood test last week. Congrats!

I have days where I don't feel pregnant. Some days I'm really sick and my breasts seem sore, other days, nothing.
I am also 8 weeks pregnant with my 4th, so I too know that all pregnancies were different!
Maybe by the 4th we're getting used to it? Or our lives are so hectic with three other kids that we just don't have time to feel pregnant?!
Congrats and best of luck!

This is your fourth child, relax. You are probably just used to being pregnant. You body has begun to adjust to the changes, so they don't seem as surprising now. CONGRATS!
