I know your not suppose to. Why don't you try a spray tan at a saloon? Much safer.

Tanning beds and the sun both work by exposing your body to ultraviolet radiation. This has the effect of raising your body temperature and of causing skin damage that requires the body to devote time, energy and nutrients to healing it. Tanning during pregnancy is to be avoided, both in the salon and on the beach. If you must, stick to sunless tanning sprays/creams that rely on dihydroxyacetone (which happens to be the chemical that causes apples and potatoes to brown when exposed to the air). Sun exposure should be kept to 15 minutes a day without any sunscreen and limited exposure with a sunscreen of SPF 15 or more.

Its not just the temp, its the rays that you get when your in there, If you lay in the sun then you cant stay out for too long but even thuogh the sun has rays, the sun is farther away from your body then the tanning light is.

Pregnancy or no pregnancy, tanning is unsafe for anyone. Skin cancer is a very serious thing.

no my doc put a stop to it immediately. i've read it's okay to go but I decided to listen to my doc instead. he has told me to lay in the sun instead if i have to have a tan and it's working pretty well even though you have to lay there longer.

I can't say I would do it, but my sister-in-law did right to the end, and she just had a healthy baby.

my ob wouldnt let me go at all. i think it's mainly because they really don't know how safe/unsafe it is since they can't do tests on unborn babies to see what the effects are.
