We had two kittens who stayed in the garage, and played on the driveway, but never went passed that. yesterday out of the blue one went missing. Then today we noticed a hawk looking down at our other kitten from a tree. Do you think the hawk took off with our kitten?

I actually think the kitten was abducted by extra-terrestrials. Seriously, you can't let vulnerable little baby kitties out in your front yard unsupervised. A dog or a hawk could definitely grab them. Put up a sign on a pole and ask for it back. Maybe some neighborhood child adopted it!

Very possible, the hawk doesn't know the difference between a pet and any other prey.
I am sorry about the kitten.

It could happen. Kittens look like large mice to a hawk, and hawks eat mice. Sorry to tell you. I would cry if that happened to my cat.

Happens here all the time with small dogs, cats and rabbits. We have eagles and hawks that swoop down and take the small animals "out to dinner" as we call it. It happens quite often here and it stinks when it's your pet!

There is actually a great chance it could have. They can heave a lot of weight and a kitten really isn't that much.
