Actually, reports of other whale species, such as grey whales, or pilot whales becoming stuck or beaching are not at all uncommon.

Some species, like blue whales, probably don't get stuck in situations like that as often simply because they normally inhabit much deeper waters, and don't get close to the shore like humpbacks, greys, pilots, orca and dolphins often do.

In Australia where there are many humpback whales, you never hear of one being beached. The whales that are beached are those that swim in pods such as dolphins, pilot whales, pygmy sperm whales and sperm whales.
