Money rules everything in a capitalistic society. The politicians are given big money to fool us into electing them so they can continue to make decisions to help the big businesses that own them. We are just the dummies that want to believe the next one is any different down beneath than the other one. The only way to change the world is to take money and power out of the equation. Congressmen, the president, and judges should not be able to have contact of any kind with businesses or receive any type of money, gifts or favors from anyone. Period!! Everything done in America can not have a monetary value to it.

To be honest I quit believing anyone in the government is out for my best interest along time ago. I believe that most of the people who are in government started out with good intentions and went into them to truly do right by the people in their district, but along the way money and power became a greater goal.

Don't get me wrong I still vote and still believe we have a great country I am just not so naive about the system as I once was.

I agree with you we need to get rid of the lobbyist and only then will we have the ability to really do what the American citizens want.

It's not the "capitalist society" you ought to be worried about. If government weren't so big, it wouldn't matter how many congressmen somebody owned.

Take the power away from the government, and the problem of money becomes moot. The problem is that our legislators won't give up the power. Without the power government holds, it wouldn't be worth so much to buy part of it.

It isn't capitalism -- it's the democratic socialist system under which we actually live.

That's why the US needs real election reform. They would not be bought by big business and lobbyists if they could not take contributions from them.

The problem is big government, not capitalism.
