Keith Hernandez revolutionized the first base position. His exceptional speed and great instincts made it near impossible for teams to bunt or sacrifice to his side of the field. He won 11 straight gold gloves, was named to 5 all star teams, won 2 world championships, and an MVP. And above all he is the season and career leader in game winning rbi's... YES, KEITH HERNANDEZ SHOULD BE A HALL OF FAMER

The only Hall of Fame he belongs in is the Moustache Hall of Fame. The baseball HOF is reserved for the best of the best at their position. Hernandez was never more than an average player even in the dead ball era he played in.

Why? There is no way that Keith Hernandez deserves HOF consideration.

Have you ever seen his lifetime numbers?

No. First base is historically a power position, and no matter how good he was on defense, it's not enough to overcome his offensive shortcomings. Good player with some flashes of greatness, but that's not Hall measure.

Good player, not great player. Not even the best player on his team most of the time. NO.

If he needs 75%, he'll probably get 5%. He was decent at best. Never that good.
