It is a celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday and the current Queen's birthday (Elizabeth II)

Victoria Day is celebrated here in Canada to celebrate the Birthday of Queen Victoria the longest reigning British Monarch. I guess it goes back to the Days when Canada was a colony.

here is the facts. it,s queen Victoria,s birthday the day Canada celebrates it . her real birthday is janruary 16th 1901 but because of christmas canada desided to have it in may every 3 sunday of that month. she was the queen who helped the natives, and that,s why the natives like her. ever since she die the queens after her are lazy and have other people do thire work even the speach for princes die was not make from the queen some one else did the work. all queen after victoria they are to lazy to do any thing.

Yes it is to celebrate queen victoria day ...Canada was a colony AND STILL IS IN THE COMMON WEALTH which the US is not ...Its like asking why do we have the queen on our currency and not president Lincoln
