how do i get high speed dial up service in my area?

Check the AT&T site. They can tell you based on address if high speed is available in your area. Do you mean dial up or DSL? Dial up ties up your phoneline while DSL is faster and leaves you line free for incoming and outgoing calls.

You start by asking AT&T. When they tell you that you are too far from the exchange, find out how far outside the exchange you are (I was 300 yards beyond the 12000 yard limit or something like that.) If close, argue with the representative and ask to talk to the person who resolves these questions (I also bugged my city council member because I am well inside city limits and in a minority area, so AT&T's failure to extend service has political overtones.)
That person, after listening to me, was willing to send out a tech who hooked me up and checked the line. I may not have the absolute top speed, but my speed is more than fast enough for me and much faster than ordinary dialup.
As for the best deal, it depends on what they are offering. There as a $12.99 a month deal when I signed up, now the best seems to be $14.99.

Dial up is sluggish and if there is not any extreme speed available, even a pc can not help. Sorry. a pc will enable you to to faucet right into a on the spot community with a equipped in or a on the spot card. it isn't any assure that it is going to be quickly. despite if many times swifter than a dial up connection. desire this facilitates!
