He is fine. I put our kids in their crib from the get go.
Have a baby monitor handy and good luck.

I never used a bassinet for either of my babies. I used a crib right from the start. If you feel anxious about having the baby in a different room, then you should try to get a baby monitor. Assuming there are no health problems that need monitoring, three months old should be fine for sleeping in a crib in his own room.
Good luck, and hopefully you'll get some more sleep if he's in his own room :)

I'd start sticking him into his own room in his crib now. Stick a monitor in your bedroom to be safe. Also, if he cries, you can try sticking the crib in your room for him to get used to it, or letting him fall asleep in the bassinet and gently move him into the crib in his room before you go to bed:) Be careful you don't want him to end up 10 yrs old still sleeping in the bed with mommy;)

Now is a good time, that bassinet will quickly become a danger when the baby learns to sit up (which will be soon). If the baby is used to your room, the silence may be too much in his own room, a radio set to a non-station, a fan or even a CD (that continues) or a radio station that plays quiet music (with the volume only barely audible) can help with the transition. Don't be surprised if he wakes up and cries out for you to make sure you are still there. Go in and reassure him, his brain cannot trust that you are still there when he cannot see you yet. Best wishes.

The official advice is for the baby to sleep in a crib in your room for the first 6 months of life.
However this isn't always possible.
Your baby should be fine in his own room. My nephew was in his own room by week 2.
However if you are really concerned, maybe you could buy a cradle or something. Something an in between size to tide you over until 6 months.

I moved my son to his crib and his own room when he was 2 and a half to three months. I just used my baby monitor to hear him in the night. It can be a little hard at first but it will get better. I know I found it kinda hard.

To be honest i don't think there is a speciffic age that you have to move your baby to his crib. I didn't move my daughter out of our room until she was almost 4months old. People kept telling me i that i needed to get her use to her crib but i ignored them and moved her when i felt we both were ready . My reason was partly the same she began to out grow her bassinet but she also started to wake up when me or my husband made any noise. i got tired of having to tip toe around our room so I moved her into her own. I got a really good baby monitor and turned the volume up at night. For the first week i had a hard time sleeping b/c i worried and had to keep geting up to check on her but i finally got use to it . It was definately harder on me than on her, so my advise is move your son when you feel like your ready to just invest in a good monitor

Both of my children were in their cribs the moment they came home. We do use baby monitors though.
During the day, we have a pack n' play that we use out in the family room. But at night, my daughter is in her crib. She is a month and a half now.

I would start by putting the bassinet in his own room then gradually to the crib for night time sleeping. But for naps I would let him sleep in the crib.

You can bring your baby home from the hospital and put them in there crib. There is no age limit, just guidlines to follow. Dont put pillows in the crib. Use one fitted sheet and one blanket. No stuffed animals or anything elce that is loose.
