World Peace doesn't bring in the dough! We should let other countries mostly do what they want and not get involved unless there is a serious, direct, threat.

"Peace is not the absence of conflict but the ability to cope with conflict by peaceful means." Ronald Reagan

There will never the elimination of War unless the entire world is enslaved by a global government. The only time when a people no longer go to war is when they are no longer free. This is because the ability to act against being subject to an injustice or even to wage war in hopes of national gain are acts of a free people. As a matter of fact, War is one of the fundamental elements of a free people. So what is happening to combat this? You've seen it all your life as I have. There is a campaign by intellectuals, the greedy wealth, spineless politicians, etc to destroy the principle of nationalism. It used to be that people did not look at themselves as a citizen of the world but a citizen of a country. The Earth was broken up into five worlds with small mixes in between: The Western, The Oriental, The Mid-Eastern, The South American and the African. Most people want to keep it this way. Some wish to outsource their own culture while eliminating it internally by helping the destruction of religion (such as the Communist Global Revolution which was hell-bent on World Conquest) and erasing the notion that nations are also different by race. They think a Secular, Multicultural world will end War. My opinion of this New World attitude is that not only will it not end war but it will create Global barbarism destroy the splendid Worlds we've created and will lead to the end of mankind as we know it. There will always be war as long as there is freedom and there will always be people who stand for liberty.

If history has taught us anything, peace is only possible through victory. And you have to fight to win.

It's probably not as warm and cuddly as the deluded peaceniks believe... But it is reality.

If you look at the parts of t he world that are relatively peaceful.. there's is usually a victory over some despot or psycho in the recent past.

"Peace through superior firepower" may sound like warmongering.. but history proves it's the only way the really works.

This question is a joke right? This country is the harbinger of death. We fight wars indirectly with other countries in addition to just invading them. When Afghanistan and Russia were fighting, we supported Afghanistan with weapons, money and training because we were still on the "cold war" with Russia. When Iraq and Iran fought a war in the 80's, we supplied Iraq with the same thing. Same with Isreael, we support them against the muslim countries in the region we don't like. These small countries have been like our pawn, we can exert force without directly getting involved. The sad thing about all of this is that the decision to support these interests is made by only a handful of people which I doubt are truly representative of the American people. You can thank the white house and congress for those decisions.

Peace will come only when our government and the media stop fostering a culture of fear. It's not just Blind Boy Bush, but he's leading the charge away from peace and balance towards hate, fear, and, of course, profit for the military industrial complex.

No.

America is trying to lead the way to democracy and freedom (and free trade, and the huge proffits it brings, of course), and democracy and freedom don't bring peace - they practically dare tyrants and fascists and fanatics to try to subvert or conquer them.

World peace can come only with global subjugation, and the US is not leading us in that direction. At least, the idealist in me prefers to believe that.

The US is leading the very few countries who will stand up to the Musloterrorists. The rest of the world, many in this country, just want to surrender, without realizing what will happen when we do.
Terrorists do not fear cowardice, that is why they hate George Bush so badly.

Hmm.. let's see.. The US is leading the world towards peace by bombing the sh*t out of anyone who tries to oppose it....

Does that sound like a peaceful leader? Yeah.. if "My way or else I'll nuke your a*s" sounds peaceful to you..

Oh, yeah.

Murdering people and inspiring more hatred and violence are superb ways of leading the way towards world peace.

Defending the oppressive and brutal against the oppressed works well, too.
