ok i have freinds that listen to different stuff. I listen to metal, punk, some alt., skate punk and just about any kind of rock. Alot of my friends listen to rap. When they ask me what im listening to, and i tell them metal, they say sh*t like: OMG that sh*t is soo gay, its just a bunch of homos singing and worshiping the devil. and i'll tell them its not all screaming and they will say some retarded come-back. i was wondering if u guys had anything to say that would kick their rap in the *ss. (rap isn't THAT bad)

Just tell them that you worship the devil and if they diss metal one more time, you'll have to make a sacrifice and that they fit the description of what an ideal sacrifice should be. HAha, you don't have to actually do it, just say it, it'll scare his ***.

Sure, you can tell them to listen to these songs that are wonderful combinations of the two, as I listen to both:
Anthrax/Public Enemy Bring the Noise
Biohazard/Onyx Judgement Night
Fear Factory/Cypress Hill Trouble and Back the F**k Up
Some of them are old and there are more songs out there that combine the two. I like them because they are very intense. Also, a lot of rap bands are incorporating live instruments into their sets now, go figure.

Gay...? If they think it is gay why don't you show them a picture of James Hetfield or Glen Danzig or Kerry King and say "I'd like to see you tell tell this dude that he is gay!??!"
Secondly it is all about subject matter. Most Metal band's songs are about SOMETHING. Listen to most of Megadeth's recent out put and you will see that these guys play and sing about subjects close to their hearts or are trying to open people's eyes to things that are wrong with the world. Most Rap artists only every "rap" about money,being a gangsta, sex and objectifying women - how shallow is that.
Anyone can angrily swear over a regurgitated beat but it takes true talent and dedication to learn an instrument well and write thought provoking lyrics and music.

My favorite kind of music is Hard Rock, but between Heavy Metal and Rap, I prefer Heavy Metal. Rap sucks.

Rap is not music:
Beat is merely a small part of the whole rhythm.
Therefore; fat mouthin' to a beat does not qualify as music.
A DJ is not a musician
Much of metal has it's roots in classical music.
Metal bands understand and employ music theory, and have actually (in many cases) studied and learned to play actual instruments, (often) spending years practicing, developing, and perfecting their technique(s) on those instruments.

You know what's gay? Those rappers who are self-conscious about their appearance. They want to look all fancy schmancy--that's only for girls. I bet they spend hours in front of the mirror fixing their hair with gel. They sing about homeboys and riding my lowrider in the hood while all dressed in their spiffy Armani suits and spiffy black Armani shoes. Yeah, I'd like for them to sport their expensive wares by going to the hood dressed like that. Bet they'll get mugged, and left crying back to their mommies.
