Well, I have been in the army for the past 4 years doing computer networking and support. I will be getting out in less than a week and have been searching for jobs for a while now. There are so many jobs, and so many places to work. I don't think you should do this if it is because you think you will make a lot of money or reasons of that nature. I think you should only do this job if you like it and are interested in it. Working conditions will vary greatly from job to job, and lots of times you will not be in an office typing on a computer. You will be installing network cable, routers, switches, and the like. Going out on trouble calls and troubleshooting every aspect of the problem. On the other hand, if you chose a more software side of the house such as Network Security at a software level, you will be doing more computer work, but it all depends on the job that you select really. It is a fast paced environment and you have to be on your toes and constantly stay up to date on all issues with computers and networking. Hope that helps, Good Luck..

Hi. Most networking folks work for businesses that use interconnected computers. This is just about any large business nowadays. Usually we work in offices or 'server' rooms.
