google is very had to plz

i have had my site running for a year, and it is now on page 6 of google, but ranked 1 on page 1 of yahoo for the last 8 months,

its weird, different search engines lookk for different things

you need keywords relevant to your sight, but if you use tyhe same word a lot some engines deduct points from your score.

links also are taken in to consideration, try and hyperlink some text on your site back to your own site also,

but again to many links can hinder u as well, because when the googlebot comes to a link it will go to that link and start to index that.

meta tags are important too, are you using a website template of a cpanel, if so u can upload meta tag mods to allow efficient and proper use of these

good luck

Whole communities exist to answer this question.

There is keyword density,

optimizing your web page for terms you want to rank for in the search engines

- meta tag stuffing

adding a keyword repeatedly in the meta tags

- link building

finding other websites to link to you

To rank in Google, you need to be aware of all of these things. Ideally, you want to be good at all three.

The hardest is link building, since you have the least control of it. Google is really picky (compared to MSN and Yahoo) about the links it chooses to recognize.

If you can, create some link bait.

This is code or web page resources, which contains a backlink to your website, other people use on their web pages/profiles/blogs/etc.

It is probably the fastest, easiest, and most popular way to get links and high rankings in Google.

You need a Google bots to visit your site - and they follow links from other sites. Why not do a Google search for my nick? I would give you a link to my site but that would be spam and a breach of YA violations - again!
