I have stayed clear of chat rooms for all the reasons people have said.scary.

I like answers better. Chatrooms seems to get flooded easier by rude poeple with a nasty language. And it's harder to keep a cap on several of them.

Yahoo answers you just post questions and people answer your questions; it isn't a "live chat". On the other hand when you ask someone a question in a chat room you get a reply right away.

I do both. If you can find a decent chatroom then they can be fun. With yahoo answers you cant really get to know people or make friends. There is a new room that has a few people in it now. Friendly, free and administered for content (none of the scary stufrf) http://www.theechatmansion.com

Chat rooms can be fun but here you choose your level of involvement. I've been ignored, chatted up, shouted at, insulted and even tracked down when in chat rooms.

Chat-Rooms are very scary and very addictive. You think that no one likes you a you try to flirt with everyone in there and they flirt back not knowing who you are. I was once like that. It is so dangerous, Yahoo! Answers because it is safer.
