if you've talked to your ob about the spot and they aren't worried you can probably relax or you can get a second opinion. as for the blood tests you're going to have to get them unfortunately. You will soon learn they really are no big deal except the heroine abuse bruise they leave.(just a joke some people don't bruise but i tend to and I joke around that i've been using)

If you don't see it but the Doctor does and it's the same Doctor as your friend. Don't go there. I know this is going to generate an uproar since Doctors are God and saying such things is Blasphmy *rolls eyes* but some Doctors are nuts or get obsessed with things. Like months ago I was in the Hospital with a nutcase that was on an Organ Removel spree. All the test were saying the organ they wanted to be bad was fine so he was going to just keep putting me through combos of test that done even within a week of each other damage your body and organs-- very dangerous.

You could look around or ask around for which places have the best Nurses at drawing Blood. A Lab is a Lab is a Lab. I hate Needles. When I was little a Nurse rushed in and did soemthing the Doctor was supposed to do (a Booster Shot). They ripped up some of my muscle so I had trouble with my thigh for a couple years. What I have discovered in recent years is there are a couple needles that are easier to deal with. One of those needles is a Butterfly Needle. It's thinner, some Doctors and Nurses will only use that and some other Needle on Children because they are not as big, and it has a Butterfly shaped thing on it that is very distracting when it's touching your body/skin.

I've heard of people haveing health problems and thinking they are pregenant, but they are actually sick. So it may be very important that spot is checked out. Some illnesses decide to take out important organs or start to mess with your brain. I have a friend that stopped menstrateing and started gaining weight so people thought she was pregnant,.. she actually had something very nasty that I think she only needed to take pills to get rid of.

Stop freaking out, you need the blood test, freaking out will not change that. As a mother, you need to put what the baby needs first, and that means sucking it up and just letting them do the blood test. As for the dark spot, if the doctor thinks it may be cancer or another health risk, he/she will recommend what he/she thinks is best for you and the baby. Usually, surgery is not recommended during pregnancy (even minor stuff like having a spot removed) but it may be the best idea. Start being a mom now and think about what's best for baby, it does no good to worry about what may be, just deal with it and move on, that's how life works.

I hate to say it like this but you are going to have to get used to needles if you are pregnant.
But I will also tell you, most doctors only do a urine test to determine if you are pregnant, but you will have to give blood at a couple of your appointments throughout the pregnancy.
Not all dark spots mean cancer, some people just have beauty marks, if you are worried about them ask your doctor.

Just don't watch when they do the blood sample. The dark spot might be nothing more than a mole, but definitely go to the doctor and get it checked out just in case.

I used to be a freak about needles too. I always tell the person that is taking blood that I was a fainter. They'd laugh and tell me to grow up and all they had to do was point that dude at me..and plop!! No big deal and believe me you have no control over it!! I found out eary that if they take the time to lay you down on your back, and DON'T LOOK,things go easier.

Too bad for you.
If you hate needles, you're going to hate being pregnant, seems like there is a blood test every five minutes.
Stop being a child, it last 5 seconds max.

those spots, especially at a young age, are PRE cancer. Not necessarily cancer. Have them removed. They call that procedure the Leep procedure.
