where can I apply for a job or an internship besides a radio station?

Probably a job on the radio. Or perhaps a job on the news or reporting (depending on your personality and the quality of your voice). You can intern or get your own radio show for free at basically any college. I have a radio show at my college just for fun, but I know people that take it more seriously (as it sounds you would). Good luck!

Most schools have a television-radio major that covers both areas, so really you could have your choice. Some people have started in radio, learned the ropes about journalism, and made the move to television.

Radio is an odd medium these days. Owners have cut costs to the bone, especially in small markets, which means little local content in some places. It's easier to run a show on satellite. There's still some romance to it, but most people I know got out when they were around 30.
