yes. the only question is if mankind is contributing to it and there is a 90% probability that we are according to the best estimates.

Sure global warming is real, so is global cooling. It has all been happening for many hundreds of millions of years.

As the previous poster notes, there is a large amount of controversy surrounding the idea that we, humans have created or are contributing signifcantly to the current global warming trend.
various studies have suggested that there is a strong liklyehood that we are contributing in a significant way. But please keep in mind that all of this is based on very complicated long term computer models with quite a few variables. this same sort of modeling, albeit on a shorter less predictable time scale are used fo better understand yearly weather etc.. so you understand the limitations

Yes.

Science is NOT for sale. You can be sure that climate science experts have done everything they can to explain the recent trends in global temperatures, they are always trying to find alternative explanations and trying to disprove the theory that global warming is due to human activities. But all of the data point to us (at least partly, after all, there is a natural component to it, it's just that we are tipping the natural system out of balance). Anyway, this is how science works - it tries to disprove itself.

To be sure, individual scientists are human, and therefore capable of making mistakes and being biased. But science, as a system for acquiring knowledge is not biased as a whole, or for sale - the nature of science and the peer-review process eliminate this source of bias and prevent this from happening in the long term.

The only "science" for sale is the rubbish pseudo-science put forth by the special interest groups who are funded by big oil and coal companies, and other polluters like that. Their goals are to 1) find evidence that global warming is not caused by us (regardless of whether or not such evidence exists), 2) spread confusion and misinformation about science so that people think that there is still a debate about it, 3) make tons of money at the expense of the environment and everyone who lives in it.

I would like to say that I believe global warming is real, but I don't believe that our pollution, automobiles, and aerosol cans alone are what causes it. Paul Harvey made a joke about it not many days ago in the news, anouncing that scientists finally found proof of intelligient life on Mars, as well as other planets. They actually discovered that many of the other planets in our solar system have also been experiencing global warming in recent times. What he was implying was that if aerosols, car exhaust, and factory pollution was the cause of global warming on our planet, then who was causing it on the neighboring planets? Honestly, I mean, where are all the cars and factories on Mars causing global warming??

Yeah, it's real. What is far beyond reality is the fear and paranoia over what effects it will have on the Earth. Truth is, global warming is actually good for almost everything on the planet except for the silly humans who live on the beach...like shorelines have EVER been static in the geologic history of this planet.

Climate change is natural.....it's been going on for years.

The only opinion I have is to recycle as much as possible and quit littering.

The Inconvenient Truth is the third-highest-grossing documentary in the United States to date.
The film's distributor, Paramount Classics, is donating 5% of the box office receipts and Gore is donating all of his proceeds from the film to The Alliance for Climate Protection (of which Gore is both founder and chairman).

If it was such a sucessful documentary, why is Paramont donating ONLY 5% ? And Gore is putting 100% to a company he is chairman............sounds odd to me.

The earth has gone through many climate changes in the past, even before mankind was here. The earth was much warmer before the industrial revolution. The climate will continue to change with or without our contributions. Whether we actually can alter these climate changes is the real debate.

Yes global warming is very real and pretty damn scary. You should research on what you can do to help. Everybody should care and find out what they can do to help.
