Contractions are a cross between the worst poo cramp ever and menstrual cramps. Mostly the Poo cramp thing. Count how often it happens and for how long. Have you been really busy today? Are you thirsty? Dehydration will cause Braxton hicks. Drink a large glass of water and put your feet up. That's the best way to stop it. It's also the first thing they tell you to do if you suspect labor and aren't due yet. If that doesn't work in an hour call your doc. BUT DRINK DRINK DRINK....I had preterm labor with ALL of my boys starting in my 6th month and had them all 4-6 weeks early and they are all just dandy. 6 Pounds and over at birth and healthy as ever.

Well gosh. Sounds like Labor to me then. GOOD LUCK!!

That is a contraction, that doesn't mean its labor though. Labor can feel like menstrual cramps, diarrhea or constipation cramps or just a weird tightening. Oddly enough, Braxton Hicks (false labor) can feel exactly the same. If you rest do they stop? If you walk around do they stop or get more intense/closer together? If the contractions do not go away with a nap and get stronger when you move around then you could be in labor. Call the doctor to be sure. If your water breaks or it feels like you have to go to the bathroom really bad (pass a BM), go to the ER and tell them you are in labor.

Well they tighten the stomach and depending on how severe they feel like a really bad cramp too! However keep timing them and if u hit 5 minutes apart or closer u need to go to hospital and get checked! Congratz and good luck!

Yes, those could be either real contractions or BH contractions depending on their regularity and how far apart they are. Time 6 of them and call your OB if they remain regular.

It sounds like contractions! Ring the hospital for advice if you are unsure, and get your hospital bag ready!

Good luck and congratulations!

Well.. I can't tell you about contractions.. but REAL labor pains, I can tell you about...

They start off feeling like gas pains, then go on to feel like period cramps. They get more intense as labor goes on, but by then you'll probably know you're in labor

These are contractions but they will get worse and alot stronger and closer together. Ring your midwife and get her advice as i know they got to be so many minutes apart before they tell you to come in.

Well, how far along are you? Most likely, labor. Could be braxton hicks. Keep timing them. Good Luck....and congrats!!!
