I am most interested in web hosting. I don't mind paying for the service but I do want reliability and value.

The best way to develop your website?, hmm depend son your experience. Did you develop any web pages before? If so then you can probably use the website builders many web hosting companies offer. If templates are too much of a cookie cutter for you. You can buy a template and have it changed professionaly for as less as $100. About the hosting price, I would say try 1and1.com, they are world wide and reliable, and cheaper than go-daddy (about $2.99). So don't fall into the $125 traps. ;-)

1&1 is very simple to use, very reliable. The prices are very reasonable. They have a variety of hosting plans to choose from. http://1and1.com

Ipower has the best inferface I've come across with web hosting. It's extremely reliable for the price it is. Their plans are a little more than 1&1, but It's worth it. The best customer service. http://ipower.com

What I like best is that they're not as hectic and commercial as most hosting services such as GoDaddy.

If you like to create websites (usually you will end up more than 1 website, I got more than 100 websites in about 6 months' time), go for multiple web hosting services where you could host all your websites in one account.

I would like to suggest following webhosting which I use, they are excellent.

Hostmonster http://www.hostmonster.com/track/ryukenden/

They offer hosting of "unlimited domains" and you will get massive webspace of 300000 MB (300 GB ). They only charge $5.95/month and they offer "a free Domain Name" and installing service called "Fantastico". By using Fantastico, you could create own forum, photo gallery, shopping cart (e-commerce),your own auction site and your own blogs within few seconds. They also offer "Free Website Builder" as well.
Visit the site to check details.

Domains
Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy.

http://www.godaddy.com

Inexpensive and reliable.

You can purchase hosting, email accounts, domain names, you name it... you even get some price breaks usually by buying more than one service they offer (like a 99 cent domain name with the purchase of a hosting plan).

My company offers website hosting with free domain name registration for $125/year. It's very reliable, we offer great support, tons of features - 2500 email accounts, blogging software, etc. You just tell us what you need, we do installs for you at no extra charge (unless the software requires licensing fees, but we can recommend/install more than enough applications that are free or open source). You can email me at jen@bentpurpose.com

I have to say, I love when one "self made business" person tries to knock down another. Very respectable.
