Cost depends on market. For most durable goods the price is cost plus 1/2 %. Price = Cost X 1.5. This isn't true for grocery store items or big ticket items like a car. In those cases the margins are much smaller. Most distributors double the cost of the item the distribute and that becomes their cost.
