I am currently a recovering 19 year old child of an alcoholic. My dad has been sober now for about 5 months. Though he is sober now, I am having difficulty in my own recovery. I experienced 5 years of abuse whenever he was drunk at home and I have put up some various roles such as the hero in the family.
For two years now, my attemps of having intimate relationships always fail. People always label me as "different". Hence I resulted to isolation. Rejection just hurts too much.

I hope someone similar to me, can relate and maybe join me in a long and difficult recovery.

I know that AlAnon is a worldwide organization that is for families of alcoholics but I don't know if there is a group in the Phillipines. You can maybe look it up and find out for sure. AlAnon is the name of the support group and they are a wonderful group. I hope you can find help.
