As many as you want or can pay for!
I think you need to keep at all time handy and clean:
1 White for lighter colors
1 Tan for see thru clothes or same tone colors
1 Black
1 Sports Bra
additionally
1 White strapless
1 Black strapless
1 NuBra ( this are strapless and stick to you)
will not hurt!
As long as you keep them clean and in good shape, you do not need to replace your bra's, try to wash them with hot water for the bacteria, also, you can get a bra- baby to wash them, this keeps your bras in good shape for ever!!

I have tons of them but that is only because I work with fashion stuff but I have a couple of favorite bra's that look great with dresses, strapless and stay in place!!, believe it or not they may be 5 or 6 years old and I still use them!

I have 9 myself. Only 2 of them are strapless and the rest are standard. I only use my strapless ones for outfits that require them, so I don't replace them as often as I do my others. They do reccommend replacment after 6 months, however I go about every 9 months since it is so expensive. But its worth spending a little more money on better quality, because as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you buy a cheaper made bra, you'll be replacing them a lot sooner than 6 months and in the end paying more money. I would say its good to own at least one bra for everyday of the week.

Lol... Good question! Well, I have 3 bras and no sports bra!
I wear a 42DD and they are quite expensive. I prefer to buy them at Fredericks because I need a little lift and they are the only stores that carry that size w/padding and an underwire!!!

Screw the whole "replace every six months" thing.
Wear it till it breaks!
Right now I don't have too many, but I'd like to have at least 7, NOT including sports bras and camis.
Especially with expensive bras (38J bras at $45 each, had to internet order them). Thankfully Target and Walmart have 3 bras for $8 in my new size now! (38C)

Six bras is a good number. Although I would probably invest in one more regular bra since you only have 4. By washing your undergarments separately and in the gentle/hand wash cycle on your machine, you can prolong the life of your delicates.

You can have as many bras as you want. You should have at least 7 so that you have one for every day of the week. It's good you have variety for different occassions. I think I've got 20 myself. I just like them in different fabrics, colors, styles, cuts, purposes. I only buy them when I can get a great sale, though.

I think that 6 is plenty and if you wash them carefully and don't put them in the dryer they'll last longer than 6 months especially since you'll be rotating them.
