I have been on birth control for almost three years and on the pill for about a year more or less. I recently have been experincing tenderness of the breast and a few days ago had a stong sharp abdominal pain, almost like a very strong cramp.

I was not on ma period nore was i suppose to and i've never experienced that sharp pain while on birth control. Has anyone got any ideas??

It is certainly posibble that you are pregnant while on the pill. My sister became pregnant with all three of her children WHILE she was on three different contraceptives. You should probably take an over-the-counter pregnancy test to see whether you are truly pregnant or not, because it is certainly possible that you are pregnant.

I never did...though I have met like 4 women in my life time who have told me they got pregnant why still on the pill and one got pregnant on the birth control shot. I hear its very possible. Have you been taking antibiotics for anything. Its a fact that antibiotics lower the power of the pill. Thats why they say if you are taking antibiotics then you need to use a back up birth control.

Yes. There is no such thing as a single or a combination of methods of birth control that is 100% effective in preventing conception.

Is there a reasons you haven't seen a doctor?

Yes, you can get pregnant. I was on ortho tri something and never missed one. I got pregnant with my third child, who I love dearly. But, I was so surprised to find out that I was pregnant. Just take a pregnancy test to find out for sure.

I used to take the pill (ortho tri cyclen) and i got sick of taking it everyday at the same time so i switched to the nuva ring and i missed my period and i had bad pains in the abdomen so i took 3 pregnancy tests and they came up negative so i got worried and took out the ring and everything got better... no pregnancy! so if you are having problems i suggest switching b.c methods soon.

Yes you can.

The only 100% effective form of birth control is abstinence.

SO yes, you can get pregnant.
